Simpsons Continues to Entertain
Posted by maggie

The comics-geek factor on Sunday's Simpsons was every bit as delightful as I'd hoped.

And it provided viewers with a whole new perspective on three iconic creators -- as well as an essay on what makes a good comics shop.

Delightful! Now to set the recorder for tonight's Heroes.

Saw it! liked it. First new Simpsons I'd seen in years.

I don't think this is particularly a spoiler ---

In the Simpsons episode: The new comic store reminded me of what I understand James Simes' Isotope comics to be like, cool and friendly. Was that Jack Black doing the voice?

Daniel Clowes, Alan Moore, Art Spiegelman, at one signing - that would draw a crowd!!

Having never met them in person, I'm not sure if Clowes, Moore, and Spiegelman were portrayed accurately or in fair jest, but all allegedly did their own voices.
There are two things that I hated about this episode:
1. That once Marge bought the now vacant space the Android's Dungeon occupied, that was virtually the end of the comic book story, and
2. Unfortunately with the start of the next episode we will be back to Simpsons' status quo. Marge has been successful at the end of several shows, only to be back at square one in the beginning of the next.
I would not only like to see Marge stay successful with the Shapes gym chain, but the old Comic Book Guy gone forever, because I personally always viewed him as a bad stereotype representing the vendors of the comic book industry.
But as previously stated, everything will be back to "normal" with the next episode. *sigh*
