The Buyer’s Guide #72

December 15, 1974
72 pages, 3 sections ? Cover by Zdenek Burian
This issue reported the death of pulp and comics writer Otto Binder at 63.
TBG
got ready to launch into 1975 with its first major article on animation, provided by Eric Vincent. DC?s cancellaton of its 100-Page Giant line was also covered.
Another TBG testimonial came from a familiar name: ?I know of no other adzine anywhere that gets even half the results TBG does,? wrote Steve Geppi, today owner of Diamond Comic Distributors. ?I?m proud to be a subscriber and advertiser.? (We?re glad to say he?s still with us a thousand-plus issues later ? and distributing plenty of CBGs to the next generation at the same time!)
What does this issue have in common with TBG #48? They’re the only two issues with the same number of pages as their issue number. We won’t try that again, although the 35th Anniversary issue of CBG, #1616, was matched by that year’s 1,616-page CBG Standard Catalog of Comic Books…
