Comics auction benefits kids

Xtra.gifAdele Kurtzman has announced that the 21st annual Dinner Auction of The Clear View School, 550 Albany Post Rd., Briarcliff Manor, NY 10510, will be held Nov. 11 this year.

The charity raises funds for the Association for Mentally Ill Children of Westchester Inc. Every year, Kurtzman has received from the comics community donations that are auctioned to help the facility; contributors include such professionals as Sergio Aragonés, Robert Crumb, Jack Davis, Terry Gilliam, Bill Griffith, Jay Lynch, Jim Lee, Frank Miller, Gilbert Shelton, and Mort Walker. Proceeds go to benefit the school, a day treatment center for autistic and multiply disabled children that was co-founded by Adele and her late husband, Harvey.
