• IDW fooled CBGXtra.com, along with other news sites, with its early April Fool’s joke, announcing a Mars Attacks musical coming later this year. No plans are in the works at this time for such a production. As noted in our update to the story in the weekend’s Comics Guide, the hoax also sows doubt if Topps is really producing a Mars Attacks trading-card set this summer.
• Michael Carbonaro announced that his comics show held this past weekend at the Hotel Pennsylvania was the last his company will hold. He plans to continue buying and selling comics as he has for nearly 40 years. His final show was headlined by Stan Lee.
• Oni Press is re-releasing the Scott Pilgrim books, this time in color. The project is scheduled to take the next two years to complete.
