Actor Ron Palillo, best known for playing Horshack in Welcome Back Kotter, has died of an apparent heart attack at the age of 63. I met him once, at one of Roger Price’s shows, and he struck me as a really genuine, really nice guy. He chatted about the show and my experience trying to “write” his laugh in the one Welcome Back Kotter comic I wrote back in the day. He’ll be missed:
