The Mirror reports that an original Tintin cover by creator Herge, 1932’s Tintin in America, has sold for £1 million or $1,538,370. The sale was made in a Paris auction that contained numerous pieces of Tintin memorabilia. The same piece of art sold in 2008 for a then-record £618,000 ($950,712.70).

Marvel is offering a $5 coupon for print comics to purchasers of its digital comics. There are limitations on the offer, so read carefully.

• Five weeks after its release, The Avengers is now the #3 grossing movie of all time at the box office with an estimated $1.355 billion in global sales. It needs to take in $106 million domestically and approximately $830 million globally to overtake Titanic’s #2 spot on those same charts.

  1. I’m going to take a stab and say those words heralded the start of one of the worst, dumbest, most out-of-character for the characters, pandering to a writer/editor’s ego of all time stories.

    The Beyonder in Marvel Super-Heroes Secret Wars.

    The first series or the second? Doesn’t matter. They were both awful!
