• At last weekend’s Kapow! convention in London, DC Publisher Dan DiDio said that a major DC character, who is being revamped for “The New 52,” would be homosexual.
• IDW has announced the next volume in its Artists Edition series: Joe Kubert’s Tarzan of the Apes. Scheduled for September release and retailing for $100, the oversized hardcover reproduces the original art from six Tarzan stories that Kubert produced for DC in the early 1970s. The art is scanned in color so that blue lines, notes, and corrections can all be seen.
• Marvel has announced that, in addition to its $2.99 comics having the same cover stock as their interiors, its 32-page $3.99 comics will also shift to the “self-cover” format with covers and interiors printed on 50-lb. coated stock.
