• An original page of art from X-Men #137 by John Byrne and Terry Austin, depicting the death of Phoenix, sold at Heritage Auctions’ Signature Sale in Beverly Hills for $65,725. Pieces from the Jerry Robinson collection also brought high prices with Robinson’s own cover for Detective Comics #67, the first appearance of The Penguin, closing at $239,000; his Joe Simon and Jack Kirby cover for Adventure #73, featuring Manhunter’s first appearance in his new costume, sold for $119,500; and the cover of Action Comics #46 by Fred Ray, closed at $101,575.
