• More casting news has been released for the upcoming S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series. Ming Na has been hired to play Agent Melinda May. She’ll join Clark Gregg, who’s reprising his role as Agent Phil Coulson. Joss Whedon is the series’ showrunner.
• Glen Berger, the playwright for Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, is writing a book about his experiences with the Broadway production and his collaboration with Bono and The Edge of U2. Tentatively titled Song of Spider-Man: The Inside Story of the Most Controversial Musical in Broadway History, the book will be published by Simon & Schuster.
Yesterday’s Panel Quiz Answer
We thought Qnax the Xantarean’s first lines in comics were, “My people have bred me only for battle! I am able to withstand the winds of Andromeda … the storms of Saturn … the planet-shaking cataclysms of the Milky Way …” and that he said them in Tales to Astonish #74 (Dec 65).
Except those weren’t the creature’s first lines. Those were uttered a panel earlier when he said, “I am the champion of my entire world! You’ve never fought anyone as strong as me before!”
