• While Frank Miller continues work on his 300 sequel, tentatively titled Xerxes, Warner Bros. has given a different name to its 300 sequel. 300: Rise of an Empire is the new title for what had been filmed as 300: The Battle of Artemisia. The film stars Rodriigo Santoro as Xerxes, Sullivan Stapleton as Themistocles, and Eva Green as Artemisia and is scheduled for release Aug. 2, 2013.
• Early reports from this weekend’s Small Press Expo (SPX) indicate that it was one of the most financially successful for publishers.
