• U.K. purchasers of The Avengers on DVD and U.K. Blu-ray, which was released Sept. 17, have noticed that a key scene has been edited for content, despite its not being edited for the theatrical release, and Director Joss Whedon’s commentary track is not included. The video is scheduled for U.S. release, with the scene unedited and Whedon’s commentary included, Sept. 25. Disney, which owns Marvel and released the film and the home video, is advising U.K. fans who want the scene and the commentary (which wasn’t available in time to be included in the U.K. DVD release) to purchase the U.S. Blu-ray edition, which is region free, making it playable worldwide.
