• FX is developing a TV series based on Guillermo Del Toro’s The Strain, the first in a trilogy of novels (the others were The Fall and The Night Eternal). The Strain has also been adapted as a comics series by Dark Horse.

The Terror from Beyond Space (1958) at 1:30, Them! (1954) at 2:45, The Thing from Another World (1951) at 4:30, and The Time Machine (1960) at 6 p.m.
• ABC has the Primetime Emmy Awards at 8 p.m. E.T. Sunday evening. They’re preceded by an hour of red carpet coverage.
