CBG Fan Award winners 1982-present

CBG FAN AWARDS ARCHIVES

The CBG Fan Awards began with the publication’s purchase by Krause Publications in 1983. While votes were solicited by The Buyer’s Guide for Comic Fandom for earlier awards programs such as The Goethe Awards, the Fan Awards is the only awards program actually administered by CBG.

Only those issues published in or creators active during a given year were eligible.

Voting has alternately been open to all or limited just to CBG subscribers. It is currently open to all again.

So exactly what happened in 1995? Urban legend has it that ballot stuffing occurred, but I don’t think I’ve ever heard the real story.

  9. Michael Tierney says:

Sounds like some rich duck named Scrooge paid to have his nephews, Huey, Dewey, and Louie win the Favorite Character category.

Either that, or the Duck Tales cartoon show was a lot more popular than I realized!
